The 2024 Porsche 911 S/T is a new special edition high-performance Porsche 911 set to arrive in South Africa in mid-2024. It's a tribute to the 911 S/T from 1970-71, a legendary racing version of the original Porsche 911. This new model is limited to 1963 units, a reference to the original 911's launch year. It's essentially a 'Touring' version of the track-focused 911 GT3 RS, featuring a 4.0-liter flat-six engine from the GT3 RS, a rear spoiler instead of a tall wing, and a six-speed manual transmission.

In terms of pricing, it's the most expensive Porsche ever sold in South Africa, starting at $660,500 plus on-road costs. With all available options, it could approach three-quarters of a million dollars.

The 911 S/T is powered by the same 386kW, 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine as the GT3 RS but comes with a manual transmission and is lighter, weighing in at 1380kg. Weight savings come from carbon-fiber components, including the front wheel arches, doors, roof, and front bonnet. Other lightweight features include a roll cage, carbon-ceramic brakes, magnesium wheels, and more.

While it shares some design elements with the GT3 RS, the 911 S/T is optimized for the road, featuring a smaller lip spoiler and various aerodynamic tweaks. Inside, it comes with carbon-fiber bucket seats, but power-adjustable seats are available as an option.

Buyers can opt for a Heritage Design Package that includes unique exterior paint, white wheels, and various classic design elements. There's also a special watch available to match the car's aesthetics.

The 2024 Porsche 911 S/T will offer standard features for South African buyers, including adaptive LED headlights, a front-axle lift system, parking sensors, a reversing camera, and digital radio. It's set to be available in limited numbers starting in mid-2024.
